POSING STAGE CRAFT STAGE PRESENCE
You work so hard to sculpt an amazing physique - Let’s make sure you not only show it off, but have fun and feel confident doing so!
-
Each division has its own requirements regarding the type of stage walk and mandatory poses you perform.
However, there is no ‘one right way’ of executing them. There are a range of options to choose from, which allows us to find those that best suit your body and show off your physique.
Posing also embodies how you transition between poses, your walk, your body language, and the personality you display.
While this makes it sound very involved, with regular posing sessions, the way this comes together is exciting and - most importantly - a lot of fun!
-
While posing and stagecraft are a large focus of our sessions (see section above), we also cover mindset and mobility - two often neglected areas when it comes to stepping on stage, but two powerful areas that enhance your physique and elevate your presence on stage
Mindset: The way we think, feel, and focus influences the way we learn a new skill, the way we experience and handle nerves, and the energy we bring to the stage. Our sessions together include proactively shaping your mindset to elevate your time on stage.
Mobility: Posing requires contracting muscles and moving our joints in ways that are not natural, nor comfortable. This is often limited by constrictions in mobility. Our sessions together include warming up with mobility exercises that your body may need to get the most out of your posing.

Posing is a skill that, like any skill, takes time and practice to master. It’s best to start early so you can build your skills without feeling rushed or stressed, and especially without the added pressure of being deep into comp prep when low energy and concentration levels makes learning something new more challenging.
It’s therefore not unusual to start posing 6-9 months before your season. If you’ve left it later than this, please don’t worry. Just know that it needs some focused dedication to make the most of the time you have left.
-
If you’re still a while out from comp prep, comfortable, form-fitting gym clothes will do the job.
As you deepen into comp prep, it would be useful to wear more minimal clothes that allow the detail of your physique to be seen so we can refine your posing choices accordingly.
Practice bikinis are welcome, as are stage bikinis in the weeks leading up to your competition/s.
Aim to have your stage heels / footwear as early as possible so you can also learn and practice in these.
